Personal Trainer - Consultation


The first step is the consultation. This is an opportunity to review your medical history, work through your goals and establish a specific path forward.

Once you have established your goal the remaining time will consist of assessments based around your health and fitness needs; whether its for performance enhancement, weight loss or corrective exercise. These may include:

  • Static or dynamic Posture
  • Gait
  • Joint range of motion
  • Flexibility
  • Muscle balance
  • Manual muscle testing
  • Core stability
  • Strength
  • Power
  • Movement patterns
  • Balance and coordination
  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Speed, Agility & Quickness (SAQ)

Your assessment is vital because it is the foundation of your programme design. The results of these will be used to create a specific programme aimed at improving your weaknesses and helping you achieve your goal as quickly and effectively as possible.

In the training sessions, we will coach you through your programme so that you are confident of what you are doing but also why you are doing it. We are very passionate in making sure clients understand why they need to do certain exercises, and why they are how they are! This will ensure you are able to get the most out of each and every exercise. As you will find out the old saying - it's not necessarily how much you do, but how well you do it - is particularly true when it comes to health and fitness.

After 4-6 weeks, dependant on various factors that can be discussed, your health and performance will be re-assessed, your programme periodised and progressed, ensuring you are one step closer to achieving your goal.
