Helen Bullen BSc (Hons) Osteopathic Medicine

Director and Owner of Fine Fettle Multi-healthcare

I am a fully qualified GOsC registered Osteopath, teacher and owner of Fine Fettle Mutli-healthcare. Over the last 10 years I have gained much experience teaching Osteopaths and Sports therapists. As well as my work within the clinic at Fine Fettle I work part time as the Academic Vice Principal at the Irish College of Osteopaths (ICOM) in Dublin. My work as an Osteopath has led to me treating all ages of patients ranging from babies to the very elderly. One of my interests is in treating runners both track and long distance and I run regularly so understand the passion behind being a runner and have had success treating marathon runners, hurdlers, ultra runners and Iron Man competitors.

I am an external examiner for the College of Osteopaths for their final year student exams and a subject expert for ITEC (international examining board). Over the last 9 years I have had experience of teaching undergraduate Osteopaths, Sports therapy students, Rehabilitation Instructors in the RAF, Navy and Army and until recently I also internationally guest lectured at an Osteopathic school in Venice, Italy. I also taught for 6 years at the Surrey Institute of Osteopathic Medicine where I was a senior lecturer for Osteopathic students. Some of the therapists at Fine Fettle have been students of mine over the years before qualifying and I am very proud to have them working with me.

My teaching experience covers subjects such as Osteopathic technique, clinical skills, sports and remedial massage, pathology, differential diagnosis and orthopaedic examination. Within my role of Academic Vice Principal at ICOM I am also involved in teaching undergraduate Osteopaths and undertake the role of module leader for Osteopathic Medicine and Applied Osteopathic Medicine at the college.

Until recently retiring from top level sport, I have played National League Division 1 Volleyball for the last 20 years and whilst doing so gained numerous selections in the Surrey County team. I now spend my time keeping fit running or some might say jogging as speed is not a word used for my efforts but in my time I have run a few half marathons and most importantly the London Marathon.
