Counselling is for individuals who are experiencing a variety of problems, from temporary crises to more long-term patterns of behaviour, which have a detrimental impact on their lives. Therapy often brings understanding to current difficult situations, and frequently enables recovery from trauma, bereavement or painful life events (past or present). People living with depression, phobias, anxiety etc. can, through therapy, gain insight about themselves and how they function in the world. Our therapy relationship becomes an important part of this learning. With increased 'self-awareness' people are better able to make more effective choices for their lives.
